Robyn is one of New Zealands most celebrated wahine Maori artist. I remember when i was 15 I saw her work and Was completely taken by the way she painted her figures and she was the artist role model I used in my school C art portfolio. to have her mahi now sitting side by side to my Mahi is so humbling and we are so happy to have her in our gallery.

Robyn Kahukiwa

is the grandmother of the contemporary Māori art movement in Aotearoa, New Zealand. She is one of New Zealand's most sought-after, celebrated, respected and well-renowned artists of all time. She has exhibited extensively throughout New Zealand and the entire world during her art career that spans a good 50 years. Robyn has illustrated and produced a large amount of children's picture books and much of her work focuses on children, women, race relations, politics and current events that effect the indigenous Māori people of New Zealand.
